Bergavit® is a powdered extract of the polyphenols contained in the juice of the citrus fruit bergamot. Legend has it that Christopher Columbus took the bergamot fruit from the northern Spanish town of Berga (this is the origin of the name "bergamot") to his Italian homeland. There, on the Calabrian coast in Italy, the citrus fruit found ideal growing conditions. Bergamot juice is still used for medicinal purposes in these regions today.
