Curcuma - the "sacred" spice for energy, digestion, liver & co.*
The ancient scriptures of the Indian Vedas show that turmeric was not only one of the most important spices of its time 5,000 years ago, but was also used for health purposes. Many people even considered turmeric to be sacred. India still consumes around 80% of the global turmeric harvest today and is also the world's largest turmeric-growing country. Turmeric plays an important role in Indian traditional teachings, "Ayurveda", both today and in the past: there it is one of the "hot" spices that are popular for their cleansing and energizing properties. The many uses of turmeric have been known for thousands of years. Numerous institutes have been intensively researching curcuma for years. And so curcumin has definitely become a real highlight in science. This is shown by a search at the US National Library of Medicine. A search with the keyword "curcumin" yields more than 5,000 references to scientific publications from all over the world, of which more than 4,500 are from the last 12 years alone - with impressive results.
Curcuma is not only good news for our customers
There is a lot of good and serious news in the media when it comes to curcuma. The well-known APOTHEKEN Umschau, for example, writes: "The ingredients of the rhizome facilitate the digestion of fats. The substance curcumin in particular can help to release more bile acids and empty the gallbladder. Bile acids bind to small fat particles in the intestine and facilitate their absorption into the body via the intestinal mucosa. Because of this, turmeric can help to relieve gas and bloating - especially after a high-fat meal."
Forget the "turmeric problem"! The solution is piperine.
When taking turmeric, there is generally the problem of its very low bioavailability. This is because normally only a small proportion of the turmeric consumed can actually be absorbed by the body. Therefore, you would actually have to consume quite large amounts of turmeric in order to benefit from it.
The solution to the problem: we have added "piperine" to our CURCUMA KOMPLEX. Piperine is the main component of black pepper - and is able to significantly increase the bioavailability of other substances such as turmeric.* There are studies that show that the bioavailability of turmeric can be increased 20-fold by adding piperine.
