What are the benefits of a serum?

Unlike our body, which is covered by clothing, our facial skin is constantly exposed to weather and environmental influences. Daily stresses such as UV radiation and fine dust can destroy the skin cells' natural protective function and contribute to premature ageing of the skin. A simple face cream is often not enough.

The advantage of a serum is that it is used in addition to the cream: The ingredients are particularly highly concentrated. In addition, the molecular structure is significantly smaller than that of a cream. These two factors allow a serum to penetrate much deeper into the skin. A serum is therefore always used BEFORE the cream and a small amount of just a few drops is sufficient.

The heart of our serum: retinol (vitamin A)

Retinol (vitamin A) is known as one of the most effective anti-ageing ingredients when it comes to skin care.

The targeted stimulation of cell renewal achieves a skin-image renewing effect which, with regular use, leads to a smoother and more refined complexion with reduced wrinkle depth.

With retinol products, a slow acclimatization of the facial skin is crucial for the success of the treatment, which is why we recommend applying the serum about twice a week at first and slowly increasing it. Cell renewal is intensively activated, causing a slight "peeling effect", which - depending on the skin type - may initially lead to slight feelings of tension or tingling, similar to a peeling. These are signs that the retinol is taking full effect. Due to the increased sensitivity to light, a cream with a good sun protection factor should also be used after application.

The 3 moisture boosters: hyaluronic acid, phospholipids, aloe vera

With a facial serum containing retinol, it is important to ensure a balanced supply of moisture. In BEAUTY RETINOL SERUM, we have therefore combined three of the best moisturizers for the skin.

Hyaluronic acid and phospholipids (naturally occurring molecules in our skin) are able to bind a lot of water and thus prevent the skin from drying out. They act like a real moisture magnet and ensure that the skin appears beautifully plump and retains its firmness and elasticity.

The aloe vera plant has been a symbol of youth and beauty for thousands of years. According to tradition, it was already used by Cleopatra (69-30 BC) for skin care. The special feature of aloe vera is that it can store an incredible amount of water in its thick leaves so that it can survive for months without rain in times of drought. Thanks to this valuable ability, aloe vera is often used as a natural moisturizer in (natural) cosmetics.

Wheat germ oil - a true beauty secret

Wheat germ oil is becoming increasingly popular in skin and hair care. We reveal the secret behind it: wheat germ oil - the most nutritious parts of the wheat grain, which are released from the grain during the milling process - contains a particularly high concentration of the most effective form of vitamin E, making it a powerful antioxidant. Thanks to this highly antioxidant effect, it effectively strengthens the skin cells, promotes their regeneration and can counteract hyperpigmentation. Mature and demanding skin in particular can benefit from the nourishing properties of the beauty oil.

Hamamelis (witch hazel) - not magic, but a miracle of nature

It really does sound a bit like magic: the fruits of witch hazel plants actually form BEFORE the flowers. This is unique in nature.

But this is just a little anecdote in passing. What interests us much more is how it can benefit our facial skin. In addition to its anti-inflammatory properties, witch hazel is said to have an astringent (tightening) effect, which can have a positive effect on enlarged pores.

Jojoba oil - intensive care for dry and mature skin

Jojoba oil is extracted from the nut-like fruits of the jojoba shrub. This oil is very similar to human skin sebum. When applied, it is quickly absorbed and binds the moisture inside. This ensures long-lasting suppleness without being greasy.

Green tea - particularly rich in polyphenols

Do you like green tea in your morning cup, but haven't yet heard of its benefits in skincare? The advantage lies in the polyphenols in green tea. These are secondary plant substances that can reduce cell ageing due to oxidative damage thanks to their catechin content.

The plus of vitamin E - antioxidant power for cell protection

Our skin is exposed to many environmental influences every day. Many of them, such as exhaust fumes, particulate matter and UV radiation, are not good for it and can become noticeable in the long term - in the form of oxidative stress; a condition in which cells (such as skin cells) can no longer fully perform their normal repair and detoxification function. Such cell damage is partly responsible for the ageing process. The skin appears pale, dry and wrinkled.

As an antioxidant, vitamin E helps to protect the cells from oxidative stress and thus prevent premature skin ageing.

Using RETINOL SERUM - it's that simple

Now that you know what the ingredients in our beauty serum can do for your facial skin, let's move on to the next important aspect: correct application.

We recommend slowly increasing the frequency of application (e.g. only apply twice a week at first ). Depending on your tolerance, you can gradually increase the application to every other day.

Apply 2-3 drops to a cleansed face in the morning and/or evening and massage the serum in until it is completely absorbed. Then apply a moisturizing face cream with sun protection factor (at least SPF 30) or, if you use the serum in the evening, a moisturizer is sufficient if you apply sun protection with at least SPF 30 the next day.

The light texture of the serum is non-sticky and non-greasy - for a pleasant feeling on the skin.

Recommended use in combination with our other serums

BEAUTY RETINOL SERUM + BEAUTY VITAMIN C SERUM:
The serums can be applied one after the other. Please leave at least 10 minutes between the application of both serums.

For all combinations, please also follow the application recommendations for the individual serums (frequency, sun protection factor, etc.).
