Frequent omega-3 deficiency in vegan/vegetarian diets
It is well known that vegans and vegetarians do not eat meat or fish. However, fish contains the important omega-3 fatty acids that our body needs every day.
The most valuable omega-3 fatty acids are the polyunsaturated fatty acids DHA (docosahexaenoic acids). The problem for vegetarians and vegans is that these are found in far too small quantities in vegetable oils! All the more so in salmon, sardines and Atlantic herring - but these are of course taboo in a vegan/vegetarian diet. Chicken eggs would be an alternative source of omega-3. However, eggs are only an option for ovo-(lacto-)vegetarians.

The dangerous imbalance between omega 6 and omega 3
