The term "Gua Sha" originally comes from a traditional Chinese form of body massage, which is intended to remove toxins and cleanse the body.

"Gua" means "to scrape" and "Sha" means "redness of the skin", which is intended to stimulate blood circulation. Loosely translated, you can also say "healthy scraping".

The Gua Sha stone application - it's that simple

The application is really simple. Let's start with the most important gua sha rule:
Always massage from the inside out.
You can easily remember this by imagining that you want to "massage away" toxins, puffiness or wrinkles - i.e. in the direction away from the face.

But now in order ...

Step 1:

Cleanse the face thoroughly so as not to massage any dirt particles into the skin.

Step 2:

Applyskin care product such as serum, cream or skin oil so that the stone glides gently over the skin. At the same time, you intensify the absorption of the active ingredients in your skincare product.

Step 3:

Massage the areas of the face you want to treat with light pressure. This means that you "run" the Gua Sha over your facial skin from the inside to the outside. Once you have reached the outside, set the stone down and start again from the inside.

Finally, if necessary, stroke the longest side slowly along the neck from bottom to top a few times. Always start at the bottom of the chin and start again.

Step 4:

Clean the Gua Sha. Depending on the care product, a simple rinse with water is usually sufficient, otherwise use a mild soap product. Place the Gua Sha back in its linen bag for safe and hygienic storage.

As the facial skin contains important fats that are relevant for maintaining its health, it is recommended to use the Gua Sha once a day or every two days for 5-10 minutes.

You're probably wondering: How long does it take for the Gua Sha stone to take effect? The improved blood circulation and relaxed facial muscles can be expected to have an immediate effect in the form of a rosy, fresh complexion and the reduction of tension. However, there is no general answer to this question, as every skin is different and reacts differently to influences.
